The skiing resort Tatranská Lomnica is one of the highest situated resorts and boasts one of the steepest slopes in Slovakia - the black slope Lomnické sedlo with an elevation difference of up to 1300 meters. The longest carving trail reaches a length of up to 6.5 kilometers from an altitude of 2190 meters back to the valley station Tatranská Lomnica at 880 meters, with a width of up to 60 meters. The skiing resort is characterized by diversity, catering to the preferences of every visitor. In the lower part of the resort, there are blue slopes designed for beginners, while the middle section near the transfer station Štart features slopes for moderately advanced skiers.
Enthusiasts of skiing and experienced skiers will especially enjoy the section at an altitude of 1751 meters around the popular destination Skalnaté Pleso. Ľubovňa Castle was built at the turn of the 13th – 14th century. The first written mention dates back to 1311. In 1412, King Sigismund of Hungary and King Władysław Jagiellon of Poland met at the castle and signed an agreement of friendship and peace. At the end of the same year, Ľubovňa Castle became part of the Spiš advance for the next 360 years. During the Swedish-Polish War of 1655-1661, the Polish crown jewels were hidden in the castle.
